I'm honored to have been awarded a Great Lakes Chapter Regional Emmy Award for my rendering and animation work on the documentary: Engineering Tragedy: The Ashtabula Train Disaster!
A great deal of hard work from everyone involved went into the making of the film, and it tells an important part of our regional history, and I'm glad I could contribute to telling that story.
More specifically, my goal was to help viewers get a clear and real sense of what physically happened during the complicated construction process, and also during the failure of the bridges structural integrity. I wanted to create visuals that were somewhat realistic but not distracting (while staying on-budget!). Ultimately, I think everyone on the team succeeded in telling a cohesive, visually-engaging, and informative story of the historic event, and I'm proud to have been a part!
